Cast of idiotsIt hasn't even been two weeks, and the democrats are acting like jackals in a feeding frenzy. They're nipping at each other. Nancy Pelosi was unanimously (gee, what a surprise) elected to Speaker of the House. After that, the gloves came off. For the number two spot in the House, Pelosi endorsed John Murtha over her long time rival Steny Hoyer. In a heavily divided vote, Steny took the job as majority leader handing Pelosi her first political blunder since the election.

Pelosi's endorsement of Murtha gives us a good clue as to how she is willing to throw values to the wayside in an effort to defeat a political enemy such as Hoyer. Murtha, if you recall, is the former Marine (who was never in direct combat) that called for us to cut-and-run in Iraq saying we will lose the war on terror. Besides showing himself for the coward he truly is, he was also caught up in AbScam in 1978.

AbScam was an FBI sting operation that originally was targeting stolen property, but soon led to public corruption. Six politicians were convicted, only one was a Republican, the rest were democrats. Although, Murtha was not indicted nor prosecuted, it wasn't honesty that saved him. It was greed. Murtha is on film from the FBI's hidden camera turning down $50,000 saying that he was not interested "at this time."

Steny Hoyer, Pelosi's long time political rival, has had a long, albeit lackluster political career. For a democrat, that's a compliment. However, he was first elected in true democrat vulture-like fashion. The sitting Maryland congresswoman went into a coma and her seat was declared vacant. Hoyer beat her husband in the primary and then went on to win the general election.

Now, the democrats have almost finished making their post election power plays. They still have no consensus on what the plan should be for Iraq. This seems strange, since they all ran on a platform denouncing the current strategy. At the same time, the terrorists, embolden by the defeat of the Republicans in a midterm election, are now making even more violent threats against the US and its interests.

Yes, it appears the democrats have painted themselves into the proverbial corner. If they really support the troops as they have claimed, they will need to keep funding the war on terror. The US economy that was booming is now coming to a dead stop. While some will argue that this was happening before the democrats took control of congress, the threat of higher taxes has killed any hope for a turnaround.

What will the democrats do? They will do what they always do. They will raise taxes. They will blame Republicans and the rich (don't forget, Pelosi is worth over $50 million). They will blame the average citizen. They will make laws from which they as politicians will be exempt. As the economy spirals downward, they will blame the sitting Republican president.

The bigger question is what will the voters do in 2008? Will they see through the liberal lies? The democrats and the liberal media have spent the past six years trying to convince the public that the war on terror is going poorly, that the economy is bad, that Republican-made global warming is going to kill everyone and only the democrats can stop it. They'll be spreading their hate and racism even more for the next two years.

The truth is, George W. and the Republicans turned the economy around (after it nosedived while Clinton and Gore were still in office) by lowering taxes. He stood strong against communist China who had commandeered our aircraft over international waters. Bush defeated the Taliban in Afghanistan and caused bin Laden to not be seen in the light of day since. He took Saddam out of power in Iraq and forced the terrorists to fight their not-so-holy-war in the slums of Iraq. There has not been another successful act of terror on US soil since 9/11. He did not knuckle under to the pressure of liberals calling for him to sign the Kyoto Protocol that would cripple this nation's economy under the hoax of stopping global warming. That is what you call a legacy.
