Even Obama Doesn't Pay Much Attention to What He Says
Obama, addressing his Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, introduced
its members by reading from his not so trusty teleprompter. During the speech,
he started to introduce them again. Apparently, the script loaded in the teleprompter
had a duplicate entry.
It took Obama a few moments before he realized that he
had already introduced the members. He then couldn't even remember who the members
were because he never knew them anyway. Next, Obama told the "teleprompter"
to move ahead.
It became quite apparent that not only did Obama not know who
made up "his" council of advisors on science, but he didn't know what
he was going to say about the council or even what its purpose is. Apparently,
Obama is such a good reader, that he doesn't think he needs to know his material
ahead of time.
This is just another example of his
inability to speak without the teleprompter. He took twelve of them to the
G20 summit in Europe. Fearing that they would fail, he wanted a lot of spares.
It's
funny to watch him stammer and stutter when the teleprompter breaks or misread
the words and not notice as when he said "privacy" instead of "piracy"
during the Somali terrorist debacle. One has to wonder what's going to happen
when the wrong script is loaded. Like the character in the comedy movie "Anchorman,"
Obama will read anything that is put in front of him. What if the teleprompter
is loaded with profanities? What if it reads to declare war on Mexico? What if
it tells him that we are surrendering to the Taliban?
Obama is a gifted speaker.
However, it's painfully obvious that he hasn't a clue as to what he is saying.
