Economy? It's the democrats,
Stupid!
The
democrats, who took over control when gas was about $2 a gallon, have instituted
"change" causing the price to soar to over $4. Using
Obama as their lead spokes-hole to cast blame on Bush for their failures,
it quite obvious that we are seeing a small sample of the "change" that
they want to bring us.
Not being satisfied with the damage already done,
Obama is giving us a glimpse of Jimmy Carter's second term. If Obama is elected,
we will see a return of the Misery index.
Obama and the democrats answer
to current gas prices is to tax and regulate the profits of the oil companies.
Now, whether you're a giant oil company on a small business, what do you do when
the costs of running that business rise? You pass it on to the customer. The oil
companies are no different. The higher they are taxed, the more you the customer
are going to pay.
The higher the price of gas rises, regardless of the reason,
the less gas will be consumed. This effects all business. Less freedom to move
about, the less the economy can grow. Like it or not, oil lubricates the economy
as well as your car. With a slower economy, the less taxes the government will
collect due to the lower volume of business.
Unfortunately, democrats use
static analysis to forecast government revenue. For instance, if they have a hundred
bus riders paying a dollar a ride, they reason that if they raise the fare to
two dollars they will double their profits. In reality, far fewer ride the bus
and they make less money.
The democrats better hope that McCain wins, or
they won't have anyone to blame and they will all be thrown out of office. Thinking
about it, maybe a taste of Jimmy Carter's misery index would be a good thing in
the long run. However, in today's dangerous world, a weak America brought on by
the old policies of democrats, we may not survive a four year term as a country.
