"Porkulus" Has Failed
Yesterday, the US Department of Labor announced that unemployment
had reached 9.4%. That's the highest it's been in 25 years. However, it's even
worse than that. What the media won't report is that it is almost twice that high
at 16.4% when adding the number of people who are unemployed and have just given
up looking for work. The media tried to hide this fact by reporting that "only"
325,000 jobs were lost rather than the expected number of 500,000. They further
tried to obfuscate the bad news by not reporting that the "reduced"
number of jobs lost was due to creating non-productive government jobs that simply
suck up more money and return nothing.
Remember last February how Obama
demanded that the stimulus package needed to be passed immediately? No one read
the bill. Obama and the democrats said there wasn't time for that. They said that
if the $787 billion stimulus ("Porkulus") bill isn't passed that unemployment
would reach 8% by the end of this year. Obama then went on a Valentine's
Day date to Chicago and didn't sign the "emergency" bill until February
18. They then passed another $400 billion spending bill that contained about 9,000
earmarks of pork.
Well, it hasn't even been four months after Obama and
the democrats looted our money for generations to come that the unemployment rate
has more than doubled Obama's predictions. As Obama has "succeeded"
in his socialist agenda, America has failed. Conservative talk show host Rush
Limbaugh's words are now making sense even to the most ardent Obama supporters,
"I hope he fails." It is now clear that the more Obama "succeeds,"
the more we lose as a nation. Limbaugh was in truth saying that he hopes America
survives.
Last week Obama sent Turbo
Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner to communist China to beg for more money. While
there, Geithner spoke to students at Peking University. He was asked a question
regarding Chinese investing in America's debt and in his reply Geithner said,
"Chinese assets are very safe." This brought loud from the audience.
Apparently, Chinese students know a lying socialist when they see one.
In
related news, after an inept Obama and his no-experience Car
Czar bankrupted both GM and Chrysler, GM sold their Hummer division to the
communist Chinese. It's unclear if Obama's phony emissions standards will allow
the Hummer vehicle to continue to be sold in the US.
By the way, this weekend
Obama flew to France for the 65th anniversary of D-Day. He then is going on a
weekend getaway to Paris on your hard-earned money. In the process, he snubbed
France's President Sarkozy's invitation to dinner. When will Obama actually do
some work and produce something more than a teleprompter-delivered speech?
