San Francisco Rewards Criminals and Murder Rate Goes Up
Those liberals in San Francisco just don't get it. They want to tax bottled water in the city in an effort to get rid of plastic bottles and/or force the citizens to drink the city's tainted municipal water. They have outlawed plastic shopping bags as environmentally unfriendly. Wasn't it the dopey liberal environmentalists that started the switch to plastic to save trees? Anyway, now they are having another gun buy-back scam in an effort to make their streets safer. The only problem is that every time they do this, the murder rate goes higher.

Everyone knows that the Bay Area is full of kooks. You have tree-sitters in Berkeley trying to keep the campus from developing the area. The campus doesn't know how to get the tree-sitters down because they don't want to use any kind of force, which is why they're in this mess in the first place. Let's not forget that Berkeley won't let their fire department place an American flag on a fire truck. Then there's San Francisco.

Yesterday, San Francisco collected about 100 guns from 80 people. If someone brought in a rifle or shot gun, they received a $100 gift card. Hand guns equated to a $150 gift card. The grand prize was a $200 gift card for an assault weapon.

True to liberal form, a "no questions asked" policy followed. That means that no identification was required from the person turning in the gun. Could a criminal ask for anything more? A thief could steal 10 guns, bring in 9 for as much as $1800 and keep one for himself.

You see, the city wants to disarm every law abiding citizen. They don't care whether it's a thief doing the dirty work or not. They say they want to reduce the crime rate, however, the homicide rate in San Francisco is high.

So, the liberals do what liberals do best. They waste taxpayer money on social problems that worsen rather than lessen. For instance, one law abiding citizen, Peter Buxtun, turned in two worthless (broken) pistols and received $300 gift cards. He said, "You can buy junk guns for $10 and then use the gift cards to buy new guns. I saw a half-dozen uniformed SF police officers taken off the street to sit for hours in a City Hall photo-op, instead of patrolling certain drug-ridden and gang-infested neighborhoods."
