The Rush Factor
As
Hillary Clinton celebrated her "come back" with primary "victories"
in both Ohio and Texas, yesterday, TLG is sure conservative talk show host Rush
Limbaugh just sat back and smiled. What Hillary ignores is that she is still behind
Obama by about the same amount of delegates as she was before Super Tuesday II.
Not only that, but her "wins" are due to Republicans.
On the days
preceding Super Tuesday II, Limbaugh urged his Republican listeners to "pimp"
themselves for just one day and cross party lines to vote for Hillary. Rush said
that he wants the democrats to be fighting each other all the way up through their
convention.
Rush said he wanted Obama to be politically "bloodied"
on Super Tuesday II. As some listeners complained that this was the wrong strategy,
Rush assured them this is not to get Hillary elected, but to have the democrats
defeated in November.
Polling data showed that Republicans crossed party
lines at a rate of five times what would normally be expected in both Ohio and
Texas. Liberals complained that this was unfair. Limbaugh remarked that liberals
only think it is unfair when Republicans do it. He noted how the democrats and
liberal media picked McCain as the Republican nominee.
As Hillary eked out
a small percentage lead in Texas and Ohio, she still is a distant second to Obama.
This caused the Hillary camp to float a trial balloon by starting the rumor of
having both Obama and Hillary on the democrat presidential ticket. Of course,
Hillary said she would be "on top" of such a ticket.
As some pundits
thought the duo would be unbeatable, Rush thought the opposite. As a matter of
fact, he said that putting both Hillary and Obama on the ticket, no matter who
was "on top," would be an instant defeat at the polls this November.
Recent polling data has shown that McCain would beat either Hillary or Obama,
if the election were held now.
When Hillary was asked to comment on the
fact that Rush had rooted for her wins in Texas and Ohio, Hillary said, "Rush,
be careful what you wish for." Upon hearing that, Rush said that he was disappointed
that she didn't thank him for Ohio and Texas. Of course, the man behind the golden
EIB microphone is playing the democrats like a musical instrument.
It's
Hillary who should be careful for what she wishes. Becoming the democrats' choice
for November may become her biggest embarrassment, even bigger than Bill himself.
Hillary claims she is the one who has the "experience" to be the one
"answering the White House phone at 3am." It's probably true, because
Bill was probably out with some other woman.
That ad is hypocritical, as
Hillary likes to claim such ads are trying to frighten voters. The only thing
that is going to frighten voters is Hillary and/or Obama, when they finally have
to face the Republican onslaught. In the meantime, Rush and his fans will be entertained
as the two liberals try to out-liberal one another.
