The Rules are for Everyone Else
Obama's
choice for the second in command of the Pentagon left liberals scratching their
pointy little heads. William Lynn is a lobbyist for the Pentagon. Obama had made
not allowing lobbyists into his administration a focal point of his campaign.
On
the third day of his administration, Obama named Lynn to be the deputy Secretary
of Defense. That same day, Obama had promised transparency in his administration
and no lobbyists. When questioned about this choice by a reporter, Obama exploded.
Obama
stared down the reporter and said, "I came down here to visit. I didn't come
down here...this is what happens. I can't end up visiting you guys and shaking
hands if I am going to get grilled every time I come down here."
Apparently,
someone forgot to tell Obama that is exactly what the White House Press Corp is
supposed to do. Obama never has had a tough question from a reporter. One reporter,
Jonathan Martin of the Politico, had the guts to ask a good question. Hey, Jonathan,
remember what happened to Joe the
Plumber when he asked a tough question.
Later, the government watchdog group
Project on Government Oversight (POGO) strongly suggested that Obama withdraw
Lynn's name. They were rebuffed being told that Obama's rules could be broken.
The
obvious question is if an Obama rule can be broken, then why have rules? The answer
is that liberals believe rules are for everyone else. In other words, you must
obey their rules, they will do whatever they damn well please to do; and don't
ever question them about what they do.
As for transparency in government, Obama
hypocrisy can not be ignored. Obama made an executive order yesterday to allow
access to all of the former presidents' records, but not his own. This is the
man who has refused
to release his records. We don't know where Obama was born...well we do, Kenya...but
he won't release his birth and medical records. We can't see his school records,
or any other records. Obama unleashed the press on Joe the Plumber discovering
he had a small tax lean, yet nominates a tax cheat, Timothy
Geithner, as Secretary of the Treasury who had not paid about $34,000 in taxes.
Obama
has proven once again that he is not a leader, just your average liberal politician
trying to gain and hold power while stealing from the public.
