Liberals Just Don't Get It
There
were other issues up for vote on November 4th besides electing a president that
can't even get a Top Secret security clearance. An interesting one was Proposition
8 on the West Coast in California.
Californians had already voted down same-sex
marriage. About six months ago, the liberal courts in California voided it saying
it was against the state's constitution. So, Proposition 8 went further. It amended
the state's constitution to declare that marriage must be between a man and a
woman.
The liberals are still trying to sue to stop it. They are doing what
liberals do best. They are wasting time and money trying to thwart the people's
will. They can no longer argue that it's unconstitutional at the state level.
Most likely, they will attempt to go to a federal level. However, at the federal
level, there is no jurisdiction on civil matters that the high court has already
determined to be state matters.
The problem the liberals have is that they are
trying to change the definition marriage, which has been that of a union between
a man and a woman since the beginning of human existence. The liberals should
get a clue from polygamists who also have been unsuccessful at changing this.
Liberals
argue that it is discrimination. No matter how you look at a traditional marriage,
there is absolutely no discrimination. For every man that marries a woman also
marries. The liberals say that gays can't get married. This is untrue. Gays can
and do get married, as long as it is someone of the opposite sex. In other words,
heterosexuals must also marry someone of the opposite sex. So, there is no discrimination
for sexual orientation.
A gay man can marry a straight or gay woman. A lesbian
can marry a straight or gay man. A heterosexual male can marry a straight or gay
woman just as a heterosexual woman can marry a straight or gay man. There is absolutely
no discrimination.
What made Proposition 8 so interesting is not logic that
liberals always fail to grasp. No, it's how the amendment was passed. We can thank
Obama and the democrats. Obama brought out the black vote, which is almost 100%
democrat and 75% of black voters voted to pass Proposition 8.
While the liberals
celebrated a socialist's victory at being elected president, this state vote in
a very liberal state showed that the population as a whole is still very far to
the right. So, Obama may not want to get too comfortable in the White House. He
may recall that California's liberal democrat governor Davis was thrown out of
office by the very people that elected him. Obama's win was not a "landslide"
as was Nixon over McGovern in 1972. Yet, even with a landslide win, Nixon was
forced to resign.
