Out of Touch - The Obama Spending Spree
While
Americans are losing their jobs at a rate of over 600,000 per month, the Obamas
have no problem spending your hard-earned taxpayer dollars on themselves. Since
taking office, Obama has told Americans that they must tighten their belts. He
speaks of fiscal responsibility, yet fails to practice what he preaches. While
you suffer, Obama laughs.
The Obamas have hosted private Wednesday night
cocktail parties at the White House. They served Kobe beef from Japan that costs
about $100 per pound.
There was their Valentine's Day date. The Obamas flew
Air Force One to Chicago for dinner. Last week, Obama wanted a souvenir
picture of Air Force One next to the Statue of Liberty and the New York skyline.
So, he had Air Force One flown to New York City unannounced. It caused panic in
the city as citizens thought it was another terrorist attack as the 747 airliner
flew less than a 1,000 feet high "chased" by an F-16. The cost for the
stunt was nearly half a million dollars, not including the lost work time due
to thousands fleeing their jobs. Obama pretended that he didn't know anything
about it.
When it comes to giving, well the Obama's become frugal. They
gave Britain's Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, a set of twenty-five DVD movies
that you can get at Wal-Mart. England's Queen received an iPod loaded with Obama
speeches. The Brown's children received cheap toy Marine One helicopters.
The
Obama's children go to Sidwell Friends School. It's a posh, private school. The
tuition is about $30,000 per year. Obama won't put his children in the public
school system that he forces on average Americans. Still, his children's private
school tries to raise more money by holding an annual auction from gifts donated
by well-to-do parents.
The
Obamas sent in two autographed magazines; one with Obama on the cover of the Rolling
Stone and one with Michelle on the cover of Vogue. The magazines brought in less
than $3,000. The Clintons' daughter went to the same school. Bill donated a signed
copy of his inaugural address. It fetched about $30,000. Maybe the difference
was that the Clintons actually attended the auction, whereas the Obamas did not.
Then again, it could just be that the Obamas are not as popular as the media tries
to make them out to be.
Michelle Obama is no different. She used to have a $317,000
per year "job" at the University of Chicago Medical Center that she
was given due to her husband's political connections. There
she was in charge of "patient dumping." Since the Obamas won the
election lottery, she no longer "works." Now, she simply spends your
money like a drunken sailor.
Last week, Michelle had a photo-op where she pretended
to work at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C. She was wearing some
sneakers from French designer Lanvin. They cost about $540. She does this in a
neighborhood where kids will kill for a pair of Nikes. The Lanvin shoes have a
sort of cult following. When it comes to taste, all of Michelle's is in her mouth.
As
the world worried about the media-caused panic on Swine Flu, Obama was on the
golf course. Folks, this is just in the first
100 days. Just imagine what they can spend...er...accomplish in the next three
and a half years! Obama may even find a day to actually work, when he's run out
of your money.
