An Open Letter to Senator McCain
Dear
Senator McCain,
You have abandoned the conservative party. You fail to understand
that "bipartisanship" means "capitulate" to the democrats.
While you cross the aisle in good faith, they not only don't appreciate it, they
use it against you and mock you for it.
All your "fairness"
has done nothing, except to move the democrats' socialist agenda forward and lose
you support within what should be your own party.
While no true conservative
will vote for Obama or even Hillary, they can not in good conscience vote for
you. If you were to win this election, you would be faced with not only a democrat-controlled
congress, but quite possibly one that has enough votes to override any presidential
veto. The country will suffer untold economic hardship and you and the Republicans
will be blamed for it in 2012.
Dare it be said, better to let Obama win?
Let the voters have no one to blame other than the democrats and themselves for
the poor choices made at the polls both locally and nationally. A new, far more
powerful conservative revolution will then be enabled, if we survive as a nation.
The mistake of electing Jimmy Carter was almost enough to destroy the United States
in four years. Thank God for Ronald Reagan.
The reason there are basically
just two parties is they have distinct philosophical differences. The democrats,
with their socialism and confiscation of the wealth earned from the hard labor
of the few and giving it to the lazy as entitlements for their democrat votes;
and the Republicans, who traditionally believed in opportunity for all to become
wealthy as a reward for their hard labor. You need to understand that there is
no compromising with the liberal leftists. Reagan understood this and triumphed.
Sorry,
Senator, conservatives are sitting this one out. No more contributions and no
votes from true conservatives, until you pick a side. If you should somehow beat
Obama, your bigger challenge will be to beat the liberals in congress. It's far
easier to defeat one inexperienced, far-left liberal than dozens upon dozens in
congress. Reagan did it, but he had the people's support. You have failed to earn
that.
Possibly, you will realize this sometime between now and the elections
in November, but it doesn't look promising. In no particular order, conservatives
are for less government, strong military, lower taxes, the classic reading of
the Second Amendment, fewer entitlement programs and strong borders that keep
illegal immigrants out and strong punishment for those that dare cross our borders
illegally. Don't be distracted by side-issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage.
These are issues best left to the states. It's that simple.
For too long
America has let socialists, hiding behind the phony do-gooder mask of environmentalism,
force us to become dependent upon foreign oil and our enemies by not allowing
us to use the vast natural resources of our own country or the technology of nuclear
power. We ask you Senator, what good is it in having an Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge (ANWR), if it is simply to become a monument to the defeat of the American
way of life?
Now, it's up to you, Senator McCain. This is your chance to
restore the conservative values to the GOP. Without conservatives, there really
is no reason to have a Republican party and no reason to have conservatives blamed
for liberal mistakes. You, Senator, must make a decision. The liberal media put
you in this position, not your "bipartisanship." Hopefully, you are
finally realizing what they really think of you. Be the true "Maverick"
they labeled you. Be a conservative. Be an American.
