Obama Fails His First Test with the Russian Invasion of
Georgia
Without
provocation, the Russians invaded Georgia. Georgia was one of the states of the
former Soviet Union. It is now a democracy. Russia, emboldened by having new found
wealth from drilling for oil on their own land, is attempting to rebuild its communist
empire with the profits.
President Bush and McCain each scolded Russia and demanded
their immediate withdrawal from Georgia. Obama, while continuing his vacation
of golfing and shooting hoops in Hawaii had this to say:
"I strongly
condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed
conflict. Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid
an escalation to full scale war. Georgia's territorial integrity must be respected.
All sides should enter into direct talks on behalf of stability in Georgia, and
the United States, the United Nations Security Council, and the international
community should fully support a peaceful resolution to this crisis."
What?
The "United Nations Security Council?" Hello, Obama, the UN Security
Council has Russia as a permanent member. All it takes is one veto from such a
member to kill any resolution.
To top off Obama's stupidity, he called McCain's
response "belligerent." Belligerent? What does Obama think Russia's
unprovoked invasion is? Obama lives in a fantasy world of script writers and teleprompters.
He has absolutely no clue how to state US policy in this dangerous world.
What
was really funny was when Russia said they would withdraw. The governor of Virginia,
democrat Tim Kaine, told Fox News that he was glad that the Russians had listened
to Obama. Not only did the Russians not hear the spineless Obama, they didn't
withdraw. That was Kaine's attempt at brown-nosing for a shot at being Obama's
VP nominee.
Look out Obama. That was the "3am phone call." It was
Ms. Clinton. She called to tell you that you had just thrown away your nomination.
Look for Hillary to eek out a win and be nominated as the candidate for the democrats
after the roll call vote at their convention.
