Now What?
It's official, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. After 12 years, the liberals again control both the House and the Senate. While it's disappointing for the Republicans and the country as a whole, it will soon be apparent to the democrats that they have bitten off a whole lot more than they can chew.

Think about it, the economy is great, unemployment is at a record low, gas prices are down and we haven't had a terrorist attack since 9-11. What could the democrats possibly do to make things better? All they have talked about is Iraq, as if we are losing the war on terror there. With every news outlet with the exception of Fox, the liberals have managed to paint a very sad picture of Iraq. The truth is, not only are we fighting the war on terror in Iraq, we are winning.

Iraq is a problem, but the democrats don't have the solution. After winning control of congress, the democrats were asked what they were going to do. They said they were going to "work" on Iraq. Work on Iraq? What does that mean? Since the defeat of Saddam they have said we need to cut and run ("redeploy" was their word), we need more troops there and we have too many troops there. In other words, they don't have a clue. Not only that, but their control of congress is not control of the government. The president still has veto power and they have nowhere near a two-thirds majority to override one.

The only power they have is to prevent extending certain things such as lower taxes. They were against George W. lowering taxes and did their best to stop it. However, the average taxpayer got relief and the economy recovered after eight years of Clinton's higher taxes. If you recall, Al Gore broke the tie in the senate to pass the largest tax increase in history. The result was the economy crumbled the summer before Clinton left office.

That's the one thing liberals do best, raise taxes. It also highlights the basic difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives know that the money you earn belongs to you and liberals think your earnings belong to the government and they want it back.

Nancy Pelosi, one of the biggest hypocrites in government, started to show her true colors immediately after the election. She referred to the "children on the steps" of the capitol in a new twist of the liberal mantra, "do it for the children." After all, if you're against the liberals, you must be against children.

Liberals hide behind the weak, vulnerable and ignorant like human shields. If you disagree with any of their policies they claim you hurt children, don't want diseases to be cured, hate the elderly, etc. They will close down entire industries for fantasies such as man-made global warming, the naturally occurring hole in the ozone or whatever their crisis d' jour happens to be. They will say and do anything to confiscate your earnings and the ability for the average citizens to defend themselves.

The next two years will be interesting. If things go badly, as they always seem to do with liberals, they will blame everyone but themselves. They will call the Republicans obstructionists and partisan. When the liberals speak of bipartisan, they really mean "do it our way." When they raise taxes to spend your money on furthering their liberal agenda, what they really mean is "you're too stupid to spend your own money, we know what's best."

Not to worry, the people will rectify their error once they realize/remember that their lives are not better under the liberals. Make no mistake, this election was not even close to the Republican revolution of 1994. Be prepared for the sequel!
