What, no hurricanes?
Hey, the global warming bunch told us that Katrina was just the beginning. It
was supposedly so severe due to the warm ocean waters that were heated by global
warming. We were told to expect even worse weather the next season. Well, the
oceans were as warm, if not warmer this hurricane season and guess what? No major
hurricanes. There are still a few days left of "hurricane season," so
liberals can still hope for another natural disaster.
Natural, that's the
key folks. These disasters are natural. If the Earth warms, it is
not due to human behavior. The Earth has gone through many climatic changes before
humans ever appeared. The Earth has gone through them while humans exist and will
continue to experience these changes long after we are gone.
Now, contrary
to what liberals will have you believe, the really inconvenient truth is that
the Earth's atmosphere does not work like a greenhouse. Moreover, actual greenhouses
don't work like liberals want you to believe. However, if no one can open your
eyes to those facts, let us give you another fact.
Mount Pinatubo in the
Philippines erupted in 1991. That one, massive eruption released more so-called
greenhouse gasses than all of mankind since the Industrial Revolution. Obviously,
there are and have been many more active volcanoes spewing the same gasses. So,
if you actually think that so-called greenhouse gasses are the cause of global
warming, their primary source is not man-made, nor can it be stopped by human
intervention.
CO2 is the natural byproduct of organic decay.
Whether it be plants or animals, CO2 is the byproduct. It no more traps
heat than does a screen door. Also, contrary to liberal confusion, carbon dioxide
is not poisonous, as is its cousin, carbon monoxide.
Probably, the number
one source for global warming, if there is such a thing, is our Sun. If you worry
about a one or two degree Fahrenheit rise in temperature over the next hundred
years, you are a fool, or you have been fooled by liberal propaganda. It would
be wiser to be more concerned with a 30 degree change in temperature between night
and day or a trip to another latitude. Earth's average temperatures have changed
many times and will continue to do so.
Let's
look at some relatively recent examples of liberal doom and gloom. The first Earth
Day in 1970 was fretting over the impending New Ice Age, if we didn't change our
ways. Ted Danson of the TV show "Cheers" proclaimed that we would all
be dead in ten years, if we don't change our ways. That was in 1988. Al Gore said
earlier this year that we only have ten years left...For some reason, liberals
like to choose "ten years" as the marker. Maybe they think ten years
is close enough for their doomsday prediction to scare us and long enough that
we will forget their lies when the time passes, again.
Well, conservatives
have long memories. To conservatives, words mean things. When a liberal says that
doomsday is coming on such and such a date, we mark our calendars. Not because
we dread or believe what liberals have said, but because we know how stupid they'll
look to everybody then. Liberals on the other hand don't believe words have any
other substance than to drive their agenda with emotional hysteria.
Al
Gore... that was pretty funny when he came to New York in early 2004 to give a
speech on global warming and condemn the Bush administration's policies regarding
it. It turned out that day, January 15, 2004, was one of the coldest days on record
since 1957.
"The weather is colder, due to global warming." "The
hurricanes are more powerful, due to global warming." The oceans will flood
the world, due to global warming." "Global warming is caused by Republicans."
Blah, blah, blah... It may make good themes for disaster movies, but the inconvenient
truth for the left is that it's all a bunch of hot air. Now, where are those hurricanes?
