Not in My Backyard!
After
Obama had
said he was going to order the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to be closed, the
question arose about where would the prisoners being held there go. Obama's knee-jerk
reaction to the question was Camp Pendleton, the Marine base located in southern
California.
It was obvious that he had put symbolism over substance by issuing
an order that could not executed without first ordering what to do with the terrorists
being held there. His Camp Pendleton suggestion exploded in his ignorant face
as do most of his stupid
ideas. Camp Pendleton is home to families of US Marines that have had friends
and loved ones killed by these terrorists.
Next, democrat John
Murtha, the moronic democrat who called his constituents rednecks and racists,
said that he would be willing to put the terrorists in a prison in his district.
The only problem is that there is no maximum security prison in his district.
At least Murtha was consistent, even though it was out of his ignorance and stupidity.
Obama,
looking very foolish and disrespectful, then said the place to put them would
be the base in Miramar. Miramar is in the middle of San Diego. It is not the place
to keep terrorists, especially being located so close to the border of Mexico.
Obama simply wanted to punish republicans and San Diego is represented mostly
by Republicans.
Then, Republicans suggested that the Island of Alcatraz in the
San Francisco Bay be used. After all, it once was a maximum security prison surrounded
by shark infested waters. In its hey day it was known as "the Rock."
Before it was a criminal prison it was a military prison. Oh, but that would be
in democrat Nancy Pelosi's district.
You remember Princess Pelosi with her private jet; the woman with the bad facelift
and so much collagen in her lips that she can't close her mouth. Then again, many
democrats have that same trouble without the cosmetic surgery.
No, Pelosi thought
that was a bad idea because Alcatraz is a tourist attraction. She then called
the Island a "national park."
Pelosi is the perfect democrat - a hypocrite.
Like all liberals, she refuses to take responsibility for any of the stupid ideas
that she and her party envision.
Joe
Biden, the windbag, came to her rescue. He said that Gitmo must be closed
because of what it symbolizes. There it is again, symbolism over substance. Interestingly,
the democrats refuse to ever symbolize anything in their own backyards. Biden
reasoned that the prisoners could not be kept in the United States because they
are not citizens. Very good Joe, now you know why they are in Cuba.
Pelosi,
Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer better all start talking to Obama about his
plan to house the prisoners in California, or they and the rest of the Golden
State's democrats will all be looking for work. Too bad Obama doesn't think through
a plan before he reaches a conclusion. Why doesn't he just issue one executive
order: "And they all lived happily ever after."
