San Francisco Too Liberal for Its Mayor
San
Francisco has long been known as a liberal insane asylum. Having some of the most
restrictive control laws and a high crime rate to go along with it, San Francisco
is also known as a "sanctuary city." It's the city's policy not to turn
over illegal immigrants to federal immigration authorities. This even extends
to criminals who are suspected of murder.
In June 2008, Anthony Bologna and
his two sons, Matthew and Michael, were gunned down by Edwin Ramos, 21, an illegal
immigrant from El Salvador. Ramos had been arrested by San Francisco police several
times for other crimes and knew he was in the United States illegally, but refused
to turn him over to federal authorities. Ramos was back on the San Francisco streets
and killed the father and two sons leaving Danielle Bologna a grieving widow.

11/01/2009 Gavin Newsom suddenly dropped his bid for the
governor's seat. He said that he doesn't have enough time to run a campaign. In
truth, he doesn't want to have all of his dirty laundry shown in public plus his
internal polls shows that liberals don't have a chance in 2010 after they've done
such a fine job of screwing up California and the rest of the country. |
The other day, San Francisco's board of supervisors voted to extend
the city's sanctuary insanity to include stop handing illegal immigrant minors
over to federal authorities, unless they have been convicted of a serious
crime. That means you could have illegal aliens gun down a family like the Bolognas
and be back on the streets to go wherever they want because the city of San Francisco
doesn't believe that the country should protect its borders. They'd rather have
innocent Americans die in the streets than to deport these alien thugs.
The
city's mayor, Gavin Newsom, apparently has had enough. He is going to ignore the
board of supervisors' veto-proof 8-2 vote and orders the San Francisco Police
Department to also ignore it. This has set the stage for a battle between liberals.
It
is important to note that Newsom probably isn't doing this because it is the right
thing to do. Newsom is running for governor. He doesn't want the Ramos incident
to be used against him. However, it's too late. He was mayor and allowed Ramos
to roam the streets even after it was determined that Ramos was in the country
illegally.
The San Francisco board of idiots thinks that it is important that
the illegal immigrants that have been arrested for crimes have their day in court
before they are turned over to immigration authorities. If they are acquitted
of their crime, the city wants to let them walk freely, even though they have
crossed into this country illegally.
How about this, San Francisco, once you
have determined that the suspect is an illegal alien, turn them over to federal
authorities to let them have their day in court for their first crime? Also, unless
San Francisco and any other sanctuary city, such as Obama's Chicago, complies
with federal immigration law, they be denied any federal funds for anything and
be forced to pay damages for any crimes committed by those that they have identified
as illegally in this country and allowed to remain.
If Gavin Newsom becomes
governor, the state of California might as well be annexed to Mexico. Newsom is
only trying to sound sane long enough to get elected. Imagine Newsom as governor
and former "governor moonbeam" Jerry Brown as attorney general at the
same time!
