Where's the ACLU? If a child had screamed obscenities about religion in a public classroom, the ACLU would be there to defend him. However, have an adult be verbally assaulted at his place of work, causing him to lose his temper and shout racial slurs, he will be sued by the likes of Gloria Allred and the ACLU will hide in shame. Free Speech, just watch what you say.

Another liberal hypocrite has made the news again. Gloria Allred is representing two men who didn't like the words that comedian Michael Richards shouted at them after they heckled him during his act at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, CA.

Gloria Allred, a liberal feminist attorney, is trying to extort money under the guise of a request for an apology from Richards. She's claiming that her stupid clients, Kyle Doss and Frank McBride, were "injured" by Richards' comments. What makes this so ironic is that her clients first heckled Mr. Richards during his stand-up comedy act. It's like punching someone in the mouth and then complaining that you got your ass kicked.

Let's be clear, Mr. Richards' language and comments were totally inappropriate and racist. However, let us be just as clear that Doss and McBride ignited the comedian's racist tirade by heckling him. That being said, let's explore one of the key problems with liberals.

Liberals believe that they can say anything they want. Not only that, liberals also believe that everyone must listen to what they say. If you don't, then you're "intolerant." However, if you disagree with what a liberal says and you state your opinion, they want you to be punished. You see, to a liberal, "free speech" only applies to liberal opinions.

Here's why Allred and her clients have no case. The courts have held that the First Amendment protects your right to express your opinion. It doesn't matter how stupid or ignorant that opinion is. The liberals had lobbied for the First Amendment to extend to not only speech regarding the government, but all opinions. Beyond that, McBride and Doss were not held captive. It is well known that comedians will say all sorts of offensive things. Therefore, they gave their implied consent to experience that possibility. To put the cherry on the top, her clients began the verbal assault.

Liberals will point to "hate crimes" as an example where speech was punished. Yes, we at TLG agree that what opinions a person holds should have no bearing on the punishment for a crime committed while expressing those opinions. At the same time, if no crime was being committed, hate can be expressed without fear of prosecution.

So, liberals, which is it, free speech for all or just free speech for those that agree with you?
