The latest liberal idiot to spout off about global warming is Leonardo DiCaprio. Yahoo has quoted him as stating:
"I'm an actor, environmentalist and board member of Global Green USA and the NRDC. In 1998 I founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to foster awareness of environmental issues. I'm becoming increasingly concerned that the impact of people on the planet is threatening our clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and the stable climate we live in.
I have also narrated two short environmental films, 'Global Warning,' and 'Water Planet' that can be viewed on my website... Currently I am producing '11th Hour,' an environmental documentary with Tree Media that will be released theatrically in 2007.
Just talking about global warming isn't going to solve the problem. We all must take action now. Please...join me in signing the Pledge of Allegiance to American Energy Independence, and commit to personal actions while sending a message to leaders in Washington about the need to combat global warming."
He was also quoted elsewhere stating that we have about "10 years" left. Gee, where have we heard that before? Leonardo is just the latest example of a celebrity taking themselves too seriously. In this case, Leonardo confuses his fame for intelligence. Unfortunately, he has just displayed his stupidity and ignorance to those of us that actually think for ourselves.
Hey, Leo, we like your movies. Now, just drink a tall glass of "shut-the-hell-up" and we'll like you even more. Of course, there is no contact information on Leonardo's site and his Guest Book is broken. However, his webmaster is taking comments, if you'd like to share your thoughts:
