Better Never than Late
One of the hallmarks of a professional is timing and being on time. Obama has
neither; no timing and he is perpetually "running late." Chronic tardiness
is a sign of ineptness and arrogance.
Chronic tardiness is a sign of ineptness
because it shows that one can not even manage their own time, let alone whatever
they are trying to do. It's a sign of arrogance, because you have constantly kept
other people waiting, as if your time is far more important than theirs.
With
Obama, it's not just a minute or two late, but late enough that most employers
would call it a partial absence. While Obama claims that immediate action on the
democrats' spending plan is needed, he's even late to announce it. If Obama wants
to be taken seriously, he needs to lead by example, rather than sneaking in 45
minute smoke breaks.
His example has infected the rest of his administration.
For instance, his press secretary, Robert Gibbs, is perpetually late for press
briefings, often by more than an hour.
Looking at his job performance, it would
be better for all, if Obama and his entourage just didn't show up at all.
