James Carville - Hypocrisy Caught and a Spin that Doesn't
Make Sense
As the democrats and the liberal media, led by democrat strategist James Carville,
attacked conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh by taking his "I
hope Obama fails" statement out of context, they had completely forgotten
that they had done much worse.
To recap, Limbaugh said that he hoped Obama succeeded,
if Obama's policies were good for America; however, Limbaugh said that if Obama
is going to implement socialism, "I hope he fails."
Now, going back
to the morning of that fateful day of September 11, 2001, the press had just asked
what Carville wanted from the Bush presidency and Carville said, "I certainly
hope he doesn't succeed." In other words, he wanted the Bush presidency to
fail. Then, as Carville and democrat pollster Stanley Greenberg were going over
the results of a recently completed survey, a surprised Stanley remarked, "They
don't want him to fail. I mean, they think it matters if the president of the
United States fails." Minutes later, the news of the devastation at the World
Trade Center was reported.
Carville, in a panic at what he had just told reporters
screamed, "Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!"
The liberal media lapdogs obeyed and the story was buried, until now.
Today,
after this old report of liberal hypocrisy and media bias surfaced, Carville tried
to spin it: "Thank God that I had the good sense to realize that the United
States was at war and that changed everything. Once I found out that the country
was at war, I said whatever I said, disregard it; it's inoperative. Unlike Mr.
Limbaugh, who kept insisting that he wanted the president to fail at a time of
war."
Nice try, Carville, but it doesn't add up. After the World Trade
Center experienced the impact of the jet liners, no one was even really sure what
was happening, let alone that the US was at "war."
No, it was merely
coincidence. Carville had just told the press of his wishes for a failure of the
Bush administration and then learned of the polling data which showed that such
an attitude was not popular with the people. Their poll results were what changed
everything, not the plane crashes that had not been identified as a terrorist
attack and certainly not a war on terror, until much later.
Carville comparing
Obama's mishandling of the economy as a time of war is ridiculous. Obama and the
democrats created the economic "crisis" and now they're trying to use
it as an excuse to attack Limbaugh. If this economy is a "war," then
Obama is destroying his own ammunition by signing every spending bill put in front
of him. He didn't even read the "Porkulus" spending bill and today
he passed another bill with about 9,000 earmarks in which 60% were from the democrats.
