How's that "Hopey-Changey" Thing Working for You?
On
this 233rd birthday of the United States of America, let's reflect just where
the union stands. It's been about nine months since Obama the inept was elected
and about 6 months since he's been in office. After running a campaign on "hope"
and "change," focusing on the economy he and the democrats created from
their return to power in 2006, things have not gotten better. In fact, they are
now far much worse and there is virtually no "hope" that things are
going to get better in the foreseeable future. Indeed, much of America is looking
forward to the 2010 elections to restore freedom and capitalism.
Obama, presiding
over the worst economy since Jimmy
Carter, constantly claims that this is the economy he inherited. He neglects
to add that he was elected after promising to "fix" the economy. In
other words, he is virtually complaining that he is does not have the knowledge
or skill to to even pick the proper people to work on the problem let alone solve
it.
Obama is scrapping America's nuclear defenses at a time when enemies such
as North Korea's Kim Jong Il are launching missiles and vowing to elimante the
US with a nuclear holocaust.
Ironically, while Obama blames Bush for the democrat-created
economic nightmare, he fails to mention the victory he inherited in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He even kept Bush's Secretary of Defense, Robert
Gates. Shouldn't that be the military he inherited? Unfortunately, it appears
that Obama is going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He's divulged interrogation
secrets to the enemy, won't allow them to be used, freed
terrorists from Guantanomo
Bay simply because he wants to close the prison without a plan, told enemies
that they are free to pursue their nuclear ambitions and has promised to dismantle
America's nuclear capabilities along with removing our missile defense shield.
Obama
also promised transparency
in government, no lobbyists and no pork. Instead, he rushed through the largest
spending bill in history and signed it before anyone could read it. Labeled a
"stimulus" bill and soon became known as "Porkulus."
It was filled with pet projects that had nothing to do with stimulating the economy.
Shortly afterward, the democrats pushed through another giant spending bill that
contained about 9,000 earmarks. In less than six months, Obama has out spent every
previous administration combined.
The Washington Post attempted to have a White
House fund raiser where they would accept between $25,000 and $250,000 from lobbyists
to meet with influential White House officials at off-the-record dinner parties.
The idea was to get them onboard with Obama's plans to take over the American
healthcare industry. When it was discovered, the plan was cancelled and Obama
denied any involvement. However, such an offer could not have been extended without
Obama's blessings. By the way, the latest government plan is to fine you $1,000,
if you don't join the government healthcare plan. So much for keeping your current
plan.
Obama's nominations
have been rife with tax cheats such as Treasury Secretary Timothy
Geithner. His pick for the US Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor, is a racist
with little understanding of the law. She even called herself the "Affirmative
Action poster baby," while admitting that she was far below the accepted
academic standards demanded by the institutions she attended. Obama has broken
his own executive order against hiring lobbyists. His administration has more
lobbyists in positions of power than any in history.
When Inspector General
Gerald Walpin investigated the misuse of federal funds by Sacramento Mayor Kevin
Johnson, a friend and supporter of Obama, Obama immediately fired him. The law
calls for a 30-day notice to fire an Inspector General. Obama then trashed Walpin
saying Walpin was confused; implying that Walpin had a mental illness. There is
absolutely no evidence that Walpin had any mental issues and his various interviews
after his firing show him to be quite lucid. It is obvious that Walpin was about
to uncover illegal use of funds that would be traced to Obama himself.
Obama
has trashed America in every speech he has given on foreign soil. He then can't
understand why America's
enemies have been emboldened. Obama thought that by trashing America, the
world would love him. They may love him for destroying America, but they don't
respect him for his weakness. Obama is a spineless office holder. He is even more
spineless than Jimmy Carter, although it's a close and ongoing competition.
As
the state-run
liberal media try to prop up Obama, it is clear to all but the most ignorant
and delusional supporters that Obama
is a failure. As his poll numbers slip and slowly the Obama bumper stickers
are removed, many find Obama, at the very least, a disappointment.
People are
aghast with proposals on the table. The cap-and-tax energy scheme will have most
Americans living in the dark with energy costs far out of their reach. Another
plan is to not allow Americans to sell their homes without the mark of the beast;
a special environmental approval seal that will cost a fortune for both buyers
and sellers. CO2, the basis for all life on this planet, has been labeled a pollutant.
That means the government is in a position for taxing everything including the
breath you exhale.
Obama
is out of touch or in denial. Last Monday he touted his energy plan by boasting
about its success in California. Unfortunately for Obama, Californians are not
quite as enthusiastic about his plans. A recent
special election to raise taxes via five propositions was held. All of the
tax propositions failed by a 2-to-1 margin. They couldn't even win in the liberal
Bay Area home of Nancy
Pelosi. A sixth proposal passed. That was to not allow any state legislators
a pay increase.
On Monday, Obama pushed his energy scam by saying that California's
economy has kept up with the nation while having the toughest environmental regulations.
Obama implied that California economy is good, as good as the nation's; the fact
is California is bankrupt. The not-so-golden state is paying its bills with IOUs
and has ordered its employees to take three unpaid days off a month which results
in a 14% cut in pay. California is asking for a federal bailout because of its
failed democrat-run policies.
So, happy birthday, America. This could be your
last.
