Harry Reid - Liberal Hypocrisy on Display
It
was recently revealed that during the presidential campaign democrat senator Harry
Reid said that he thought Barack Hussein Obama had a good chance at winning the
election as their candidate. Was it because of Obama's experience? No. Was it
because of Obama's education? No. Was it because he was a better choice than Hillary
Clinton? No. Was it because of Obama's nonsense message of "hope" and
"change?" No. No it was none of those reasons. Harry Reid said that
Obama could win because he was "light skinned" and had "no Negro
dialect." In essence, Reid was saying that Obama was white enough to win
the election.
Does this make Harry Reid a racist? Not necessarily, but it does
show that Reid is ignorant, stupid and insensitive. It shows that Harry Reid thinks
that Americans are racists. It also gives us another example that the democrats
always play the race card and have a double standard when it comes to such utterances.
In
2002, the democrats drove then Republican Senator Trent Lott from his position
as majority leader. At a 100-year birthday toast for Senator Strum Thurmond, Lott
said, "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. Were
proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't
have had all these problems over the years, either." Thurmond was a racist.
Instead of giving Lott the benefit of the doubt about what he meant by "all
these problems," they called Lott a racist. Lott apologized and resigned
as majority leader.
Then senator Barack Hussein Obama said of the incident,
"It seems to be that we can forgive a 100-year-old senator for some of the
indiscretion of his youth; but, what is more difficult to forgive is the current
president of the U.S. Senate (Lott) suggesting we had been better off if we had
followed a segregationist path in this country after all of the battles and fights
for civil rights and all the work that we still have to do. The Republican Party
itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they
have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party."
No;
instead, Obama and the racist democrats have circled the proverbial wagons around
Reid. They have tried to explain away Reid's comments. In the ensuing firestorm
it has caused we have come to find out that Bill Clinton told democrat senator
Ted Kennedy, "A few years ago this guy (Obama) would have been getting us
coffee." We are also reminded of Joe Biden commenting on Obama, "I mean
you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and
clean and a nice-looking guy."
One has to wonder how Obama can defend these
racists. Not only does he defend them, but he makes Bill Clinton the ambassador
to Haiti, nominates Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and Joe Biden as his
running mate. Folks, it's really quite simple: democrats and liberals are nothing
but racist hypocrites.
