California Fires
Cast More Doubt on Global Warming Theory
We
already know that one eruption from a volcano can spew more so-called greenhouse
gases than all of mankind has produced since the industrial revolution. Now, we
learn a whole lot more about the inaccuracies of predicting the weather.
The
yearly Santa Ana wind conditions, that have been around long before California
was ever populated, helped fan the flames of the California fires. The winds were
predicted, to a point, however, as embarrassed meteorologist/weather reporters
scrambled to update their forecasts, the winds changed only to make them look
more and more foolish.
The Santa Ana winds were originally predicted to
blast all of southern California from Sunday through Thursday. They died down
after one night. This allowed fire fighters to use air support. That combined
with little to no wind allowed major containment.
Not only were the "experts"
unable to accurately predict the wind, but the temperatures dropped below predictions
in areas that were not burning. The reason? The smoke-filled skies blocked the
sun light allowing for a cooling effect. When the winds stopped, the smoke cleared
over the areas not on fire and the air temperature rose. So much for CO2
retaining heat.
Some left-wing global warming zealots are trying to claim
global warming caused the severity of the fires. Wrong again. The reason the fires
were so severe was simply the annual Santa Ana winds. There was far more fuel
to burn because people have been extinguishing natural wildfires for years. Add
to that, irrigation in arid areas increased plant life and therefore fuel for
the fires.
You have to understand that most of California is really a desert
that has been irrigated into prosperity. The "drought" is a normal condition
for a desert.
Lastly, although firefighters bravely fought the fires, the
fires are controlled by the weather. If the winds did not stop, the firefighters
would not have been able to save anything. Now, imagine for a moment that global
warming is real. It would have to be caused by the weather, which is uncontrollable
by human intervention.
Like it or not, global warming activists must finally
come to the realization that the Earth's weather is controlled by the Sun. Humans
can no more control the weather than they can control the Sun.
The
leaders of the global warming scandal are not interested in controlling the climate
of the Earth. They are simply interested in controlling the lives of the people
that keep them in power. Al Gore is the poster-boy for the movement. He is by
no means an expert and certainly not a hero. He is a liar and a thief.
Sometimes
it takes Mother Nature to show the ignorant that they have been mislead by the
greedy. Then it takes a lot of effort for those that have been mislead to swallow
their pride and admit that they were fooled.
