Can't Handle the Truth? Censor It!
With the liberals doing everything they can to ram the largest spending bill in
history down our throats, they have run into a small problem - the truth. Even
with a majority in both houses of congress, the American people aren't buying
what conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has called "Porkulus."
The
House version of "Porkulus" passed without a single Republican vote
and eleven democrats voted against. The senate got three
Republican traitors to vote for it. However, the traitors said they would
vote against the final compromise version, if it is changed. This caused House
democrat Nancy Pelosi to lock
herself in a room and throw a tantrum.
In the meantime, millions of Americans
have sent letters, called, faxed and emailed their anger to their representatives.
Democrats have done their best to spin the truth calling "Porkulus"
a stimulus plan that must be passed immediately or, as Obama put it, we face a
"catastrophe."
Yesterday, the little surprise in the news was that
January had the biggest jump in retail sales in seven months, foreclosures slowed
and things looked a lot brighter. Of course, this angered the democrats. Their
entire socialist scheme depends on economic catastrophe or at the very least,
the perception of it.
The democrats are talking about instituting the "Fairness
Doctrine" to battle the truth. It's not enough that the liberal media has
Oprah Winfrey, the View, Air America, NPR, PBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, the
New York Times, Associated Press and just about every other media outlet other
than Fox. They want to control it all. So, they want to have their lies given
equal time on shows like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.
You
see, even with the liberals having control of most news outlets, conservative
shows dominate the ratings. Fox News' ratings beat all of their competitors combined.
The liberals have tried to compete. Most notably, they tried liberal talk radio
Air America, which went bankrupt. The liberals can't handle the fact that it's
not that their doom-and-gloom messages and socialist agenda isn't out there. It's
that it has been soundly rejected.
So, they are contemplating an all-out assault
on the First Amendment. Their "Fairness" Doctrine will not work in reverse,
however. They will not allow conservatives like Limbaugh to go onto their liberal
shows. Like the democrats' view of "bipartisanship," they only believe
in equal time when it's only their view of the world.
If you watched Obama's
first press conference since the election, you may have noticed that all of the
questions were scripted to favor Obama. Veteran White House journalist Helen Thomas
actually asked this question: "Mr. President, do you think that Pakistan
and... are maintaining the safe havens in Afghanistan for these so-called
terrorists?"
Thomas has been quoted as saying, "I'm a liberal, I was
born a liberal, I'll be one 'til I die, what else should a reporter be when you
see so much and when we have such great privilege and access to the truth?"
There
you have it; an admission that liberals are born liberal and maintain being a
liberal for life due to an inverse reaction to the truth.
Okay, liberals, you
want to fight the truth? You want to take away our First Amendment rights? In
the immortal words of George W Bush, "Bring it on!"
