Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen...Blame It on Rio
Didn't
Barack Hussein Obama promise us that the international community would love and
respect America again, if he were elected? Yes, yes he did tell us that. He also
told us he'd "fix" the economy and solve the war on terror. Today, unemployment
is at 17% (counting those who have simply given up "hope") and we are
losing the war on terror. Obama's most recent failure was his attempt to get the
2016 Olympic games hosted by Chicago.
Obama, spending at least $1.4 million,
flew his wife Michelle, gossip talk show host Oprah Winfrey and a few sports celebrities
ahead of him to Copenhagen. Their goal was to schmooze and butter up the International
Olympic Committee before the inept one's arrival. The IOC officials took all sorts
of photos of themselves with Michelle and Oprah, but that's about all the attention
Chicago received.
Obama spent about four hours in Copenhagen making his pitch
to the IOC to have Chicago be the host of the games in 2016. Obama gave his usual
rhetoric about how hosting the games would be in the World's best interest. However,
after Obama has spent speech after speech condemning America, his words fell on
deaf ears.
The IOC had four rounds of votes to decide which city would be the
2016 host. They threw Chicago under the proverbial bus in the first round and
sent Obama home packing.
Eventually, the IOC chose Brazil's Rio de Janeiro.
Their reasoning was that South America had never hosted the Olympics and America,
Asia and Europe have. Just as Obama told Joe
the plumber that he had to spread his wealth around the IOC basically told
Obama that they had to spread the games around. It's pretty funny that the IOC
used the same logic of fairness that Obama uses to justify taking the earnings
of others to deny Chicago the games.
However, what is the real reason? Could
it be that Chicago has become increasingly violent since Obama was elected as
a state senator there? Could it be that Chicago has one of the highest violent
crime rates in the nation? Could it be that the IOC didn't like being bullied
around by Chicago-style thug politics? Could it be that the international community
dislikes the US more since Obama has been on a never ending condemn America tour?
Maybe it was payback for Obama's biggest supporter, Jimmy
Carter? Carter boycotted the 1980 Olympics. Maybe it was because a bomb was
set off in Atlanta during Clinton's administration in 1996?
Whatever the reason,
the IOC sent a clear message that Obama's magic is gone. If they truly wanted
to show some respect to Obama, Chicago wouldn't have lost so decisively. The truth
is that the World is sick of Obama just as much as the American people are. Obama
is an inexperienced, bumbling fool that has no business being in the White House.
