Constitutional Comeuppance?
Last
December, TLG wrote about Obama skirting the
US Constitution with his appointment of Hillary Clinton to the position of
Secretary of State. TLG cited the passage in the US Constitution, specifically
Article I, Section 6, Paragraph
2, which prohibits the appointment of a senator or representative to any civil
office under the authority of the United States when that position had its salary
increased while the senator or representative was office at the time of the increase.
In
that December writing, TLG also predicted that Obama would have congress reduce
the salary back to what it was while Clinton was still a senator. This has been
done by both parties in the past; however, it has never been challenged, until
now.
A lawsuit was filed by the government watchdog group Judicial Watch on
behalf of State Department employee David Rodearmel. Rodearmel says that he took
an oath to defend the US Constitution. This is the same oath that Obama took,
yet Obama, being a liberal, thinks that the US Constitution is "just words."
Regardless
of the intentions of Obama and the reduction in the salary, the fact remains that
the US Constitution does not allow this. If the courts decide that the US Constitution
has been violated, then Hillary will be out of a job. She has already resigned
from the senate.
Don't hold your breath. This legal challenge will take some
time and the US Supreme Court has already tossed out a lawsuit charging that Obama
is not qualified for office, even though Obama
can not or will not prove that he is a natural born citizen as demanded by
the very same US Constitution. Welcome to ObamiNation.
