It's Back! The Issue that Won't Die
The question of Obama's citizenship has risen again. A previous lawsuit was dismissed
on a legal technicality of standing. In other words, the plaintiff lacked having
a legal interest in Obama's citizenship. How a court could decide that any American
can lack such standing when it comes to who is qualified to be their president
is beyond comprehension.
However, this time, there are people with legal standing,
such as Alan Keyes who ran for the presidency. It's not a question of whether
or not Obama is a citizen of the US, but rather whether or not he is a natural
born citizen as required by the US
Constitution as a prerequisite of becoming president.
Obama's self admission
that he was born with dual citizenship (Kenyan and American), seems to show that
he is not only not qualified to be the president, but also that he is a liar.
At the time of his birth, Kenya did not allow dual citizenship and the US did
not and does not recognize dual citizenship of Americans. You are either an American
or not.
Why won't Obama simply put an end to this by providing his birth certificate?
He and his supporters claim that they have already supplied it. It's the one on
this page and you can click on the image for a larger version.
The problem is
that this is not a birth certificate. It is simply a certification of live birth
that was registered in Hawaii. Anyone could register such a certificate and it
is not valid for employment records in such positions as law enforcement. Even
this copy that was provided by Obama is not valid as it has its certificate number
redacted and the document clearly states at the bottom that it is invalid if there
are any alterations.
No, what Obama needs to do is produce the vault copy of
his birth certificate to put these cases to rest. Currently, the US Supreme Court
is deciding on whether or not to hear an appeal on one of these cases. Even if
they decide not to hear it, there are more coming.
The only logical reason Obama
does not produce a vault copy of his American birth certificate is that it does
not exist. In fact, there are no witnesses to his being born in the US. However,
he does have relatives in Kenya that attest to the fact that he was born in Kenya,
not America. Also, note that the date of registration of the
certificate is four days after his date of birth. This coincides with witnesses
that state Obama's mother left Kenya for America shortly after Obama's birth in
Kenya.
So, here are the ramifications, should it be determined that Obama is
not a natural born citizen: If this is determined before he is inaugurated, his
election would be void as his candidacy was invalid and McCain would become president
of the United States. If it should be determined that Obama is not a natural born
citizen after his inauguration, he would be immediately removed from office and
Joe Biden would become president.
