Carrie
Prejean - A New American Hero
Ask anyone who won Miss America last Sunday
night and chances are they won't know. However, they sure know who the runner-up
is. The reason is that pagent gave us a new American hero, Miss California, Carrie
Prejean. Prejean "lost" the contest due to her answer to a question
from a liberal, gay judge.
Perez Hilton asked Prejean, "Vermont recently
became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state
should follow suit - why or why not?"
Prejean answered very politely,
"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other.
We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage.
You know what? In my country, and in my family, I think that I believe that marriage
should be between a man and a woman - no offense to anybody out there, but that's
how I was raised and that's how I think it should be; between a man and a woman.
Thank you."
Hilton and his liberal counterparts couldn't accept an
answer that wasn't politically correct, even though it was correct. If Hilton
didn't want to hear Prejean's opinion, he shouldn't have asked for it.
What
upset Hilton and his cronies is they thought that a Miss America contestant would
say or do anything to win. They had hoped to crown a Miss America that would be
their spokeswoman for their anti-American cause. Prejean surprised them by being
honest and knowing that it would cost her the title.
While Hilton's question
garnered a mild cheer, Prejean's answer received a roar of applause. Hilton and
his misguided liberal friends forget that the vast majority of Americans agree
with Prejean. True, a state like Vermont which protects child molesters, has voted
for same-sex marriage.
Under traditional marriage and the actual definition
of the word, for every man that gets married, so does a woman. It doesn't matter
what their sexual orientation is.
By the way, for you liberals, don't forget
that your leader, Barack Hussein Obama, has said the same thing that Prejean has
said. Why aren't you attacking your elected socialist leader for his opinion,
rather than a twenty-two year old woman? Liberals: short on substance and long
on hypocrisy.
