Can We Talk?
As
Hillary's hopes for the nomination fade into a possible VP role or, God forbid,
an offer of a seat on the bench of the US Supreme Court, TLG now turns the heat
up on Obama. Yes, Rush Limbaugh's "Operation
Chaos" is still keeping her in the race and the democrats in disarray.
However, it's time to talk about Barack Obama.
As long as there is a teleprompter
in front of Obama, he can speak. Take it away and he falls apart like a puppet
that has just had its strings cut.
No matter what the issue, Obama claims that
we can't talk about it.
He sat in a church for twenty years listening to a racist
reverend. He says that we can't ask him about that.
His wife, Michelle, who
has been actively campaigning for her husband, repeatedly stated in speeches,
"For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of America." Barack says
we have to lay off his wife. If your wife is such an embarrassment, maybe you
shouldn't have her campaigning. We can't talk about that.
We can't even use
his middle name, Hussein. Hey, Obama, if your name is such an embarrassment, why
don't you change it? We can't talk about that.
He has personal dealings with
crooks and anti-American thugs, but we can't talk about that.
It doesn't just
stop with him and his wife's character flaws. We can't talk about the presidential
issues that Obama himself raises.
Recently, President Bush was in Israel for
that country's 60th birthday. While praising the Israelis, Bush spoke of the mistake
of trying to appease terrorists and tyrants. Speaking of an unnamed politician
of the World War II era (long before Obama was born), Bush said, "Some seem
to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious
argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this
foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American
senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might
have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false
comfort of appeasement."
Obama took this as a personal attack. He said,
"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 60th
anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack."
Obama, Carly Simon wrote a song that fits you. "You're So Vain." However,
if the shoe fits, Obama will wear it.
After Obama stated in a debate that he
would hold unconditional talks with terrorists such as Hamas and Iranian President
Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Hamas endorsed Obama for president of the US. The inexperienced
senator from Illinois ignores the fact that these terrorists refuse to hold open
even the remote possibility of agreeing to recognize Israel as a state before
they "negotiate." However, we can't talk about that.
The self-enamored
Obama also seems to forget that democrat Jimmy Carter just went to Syria, against
the wishes of the US State Department and Israel, and spoke directly to terrorists.
Of course, like all of Carter's dealings when he was president, it was an utter
failure. So, if Bush was making a personal attack, wouldn't it have been more
about Carter than Obama?
Obama's stupidity isn't just in foreign affairs. A
year ago he said, "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy
in Kansas. Ten thousand people died - an entire town destroyed."
This was a bit of an exaggeration. The actual death toll was 12. Not twelve thousand,
just 12. We can't talk about that anymore, either.
Or how about the US as a
whole? Earlier this month, Obama said, "Over the last 15 months, we've
traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states?
I think one left to go." Well, there are 57 states of Islam, but we can't
talk about that.
Okay, how about local geography? Obama discussing his loss
to Hillary in Kentucky said, "Senator Clinton, I think, is much better known,
coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it's not surprising that she would
have an advantage in some of those states in the middle." Huh? Obama's own
state, Illinois, borders Kentucky; Arkansas does not. Now, we can't talk about
that anymore.
Let's move from foreign and domestic affairs to his personal life.
Surely, he can get that right. Last March, Obama was speaking on the anniversary
of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama. Obama said of his parents, "There
was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama,
because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together
and Barack Obama Jr. was born." The problem with this is the March happened
in 1965. Obama was born in 1961. Well, if Hillary can be named after Sir Edmund
Hillary while being born years before he was famous, Obama can be born four years
before his parents got together. Oh, we can't talk about that.
From the candidate
that can speak for hours without saying anything, it only makes sense that we
can't talk about that.
