Michelle Obama Rumor Backfires on Democrats
Democrat and Obama supporter, Bob BeckelOn June 3, democrat strategist and Obama supporter went on Fox News saying that the "other shoe" was going to drop, probably on June 4, after Obama secures the democrat delegates needed for nomination.

When asked about the rumor, all Beckel would say is that it involves Michelle Obama. He said that he didn't want to perpetuate the rumor, even though he was starting it.

The rumor, started by the Obama campaign and hyped by Beckel, was supposedly of a racist remark caught on video/audio tape. Beckel said he hears a lot of rumors, but this one had him worried because the sources reached him in a way that makes them credible.

June 4 came and went without any bombshell or even a hint of one. Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said he had heard of the rumor and Beckel's comments, but Limbaugh said he didn't believe it.

Some blogging speculating on what the rumor was and what Michelle may or may not have said went back and forth across the internet on both conservative and liberal sites and then was quickly forgotten.

This morning, the Obama campaign, angered at the lack of a reaction, announced that they had a new web site that combats smear rumors about Obama. The new site then goes on to list rumors that are supposedly untrue. The site blames Limbaugh for the Michelle Obama rumor, when it was Obama's supporters that started it and Limbaugh doubting it.

Egg was left all over the face of Obama and his campaign when this morning Limbaugh replayed his comments regarding the rumor. It was quite obvious that it was Beckel trying to bait Limbaugh and the conservatives into hyping the rumor. They didn't fall for it because conservatives generally don't spread rumors, they spread truth.

Obama smoking and angryNow, Obama is left with a web site spreading nasty rumors about him and saying they aren't true by using lies to prove that they are not true. Similar to him saying that he quit smoking and now admits he is still smoking, he might as well admit he's starting negative rumors about himself and his wife.
