No One Left to Blame, Except Democrats
It appears that the democrats have run out of the "blame George W Bush"
excuse. It was evident at Nancy Pelosi's disastrous press conference that even
the liberal media has had enough of their lies.
Pelosi
dug her hole even deeper. Her story has changed five times. From claiming that
she was not ever briefed on Enhanced Interrogation Techniques - to being briefed
on them, but not waterboarding - to admitting waterboarding was discussed, but
not being told it was being used - to that her aide was briefed, but she was not
told of waterboarding - to the CIA is lying.
If you're confused listening to
her, you're not alone. Pelosi even confused herself at the press conference. She
didn't expect the liberal lapdog media to attack, but surprisingly they did. After
reading from her prepared statement, Pelosi was finally asked some tough questions.
She jumped from behind the podium and gestured wildly why spewing out nonsense.
She tried to return to the podium, but had lost her sense of direction. When she
finally made it back the three steps to the podium, she tried to regain her composure
by re-reading her prepared statement.
However, Pelosi was so stymied by actually
being challenged, she at first couldn't find her notes and then when she did (they
were right there on the podium where she had left them) she exclaimed that they
were all out of order. The immediate question that comes to one's mind is why
does Pelosi need notes to tell the truth?
During the brouhaha, Pelosi tried
to spin the topic back into blaming Bush. She tried to say that she was there
to talk about Bush's illegal use of waterboarding. The press wouldn't take the
bait. She even blurted out that, "I was fighting the war in Iraq." Still
the press stayed on point. She ended her blithering by accusing the CIA of lying.
Accusing
the 18,000 American patriots that defend America of lying was probably not a good
move on Pelosi's part. Even democrat Leon
Panetta who was appointed by Barack
Hussein Obama as Director of the CIA announced that the CIA was not lying.
Panetta said, "It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress. Our
contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed
truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaida, describing the enhanced techniques
that had been employed."
Pelosi knew about waterboarding, knew that it
was being used and kept any objections she may have had to herself. In fact, in
2002 she made a speech praising the organization as she voted to approve funding.
She made no mention of issues with the Enhanced Interrogation Techniques.
It
seems that the CIA has something that Pelosi lacks; intelligence. The CIA has
kept detailed logs on briefings they have conducted with congress. They clearly
show on what Pelosi was briefed and when she was briefed. The CIA briefs congress
to keep them in the loop as well as to hear any objections they may have. Obviously,
the CIA does not brief congress on what they don't plan to do. She's lying; not
the CIA.
So, now we have Nancy Pelosi, second in line for the presidency behind
Joe Biden, who has lied to the American people. What will the democrats do? They
have a Speaker of the House that has lost all credibility. They have demanded
investigations into every nook and cranny of the previous administration, but
have been caught in their own lies. Pelosi won't resign. However, she is now political
baggage.
Obama, being inept at leadership has said nothing. His pick for director
of the CIA has backed the spy agency. The smart thing for Obama to do would be
to call for Nancy Pelosi to resign. That would end the nonsense. Then again, Obama
may be hoping that his democrat pals in congress convince her to step down. Pelosi
is not part of Obama's bubble. Obama may be keeping silent because of the fact
that he's a coward and is afraid of what Pelosi will say about him. In any event,
it's just another example of how spineless and inept Obama is.
There
has been some luke warm support for Pelosi. Democrat US Senator Dianne Feinstein
said, "The CIA on this issue is in a defensive mode. Who knows whether what
they're saying is right or wrong? The CIA is not an agency that is above not telling
the truth." Feinstein is wrong. It's Pelosi who is in the defensive mode.
This also translates into saying that Leon Panetta is a liar. However, what does
Panetta have to gain by covering for the CIA? Look for Panetta to waffle a bit,
but the problem for the democrats is the truth has been documented. Even Feinstein
does not want a "truth commission" knowing that most of the blame leads
right back to the democrats.
