Liberals Still Embrace
Appeasement
What
we have learned over the years is that tyrants and terrorists cannot be appeased.
Whether it be Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jong Ill, Hugo Chavez, Saddam Hussein, Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, etc. The list goes on and on.
We have also learned that democrats
and liberals still think appeasement works. They think, "If only the evil
doers would just understand us," or "Only if we could understand how
we have wronged them."
Barack Obama is no different. Like most liberals,
he fails to understand that peace comes through strength. Obama thinks that terrorist
nations such as Iran can be dealt with through only talking and good faith gestures.
Worse, Obama announced that he wants to introduce a measure that states that Bush
doesn't have the authority to attack Iran.
"Only if..." is for
children. However, even children understand that the only way to deal with a bully
is to punch him in the nose. Whether it's a schoolyard bully or the dictator of
Iran, telling him he can have your lunch money and you're not going to do anything
about it causes the bully to disrespect you even more. Not only will you fail
to appease him, you embolden him.
It doesn't matter which democrat wins
their party's nomination. They are inept when it comes to dealing with foreign
tyrants. Look at the mess Bill Clinton left us. Bush dealt toughly with Communist
China early on when they tested him by kidnapping our airmen. They have been kept
in check ever since. Saddam is no longer a threat. Osama bin Laden has been forced
to hide under a rock in exile for six years.
