Did You Miss the First Day of the DNC? No You Didn't!
There
was nothing of interest on the first day of the democrats' national convention.
There was a tribute to Jimmy Carter. Yes, Jimmy Carter, the worst president in
our history. He was interviewed later and called Obama a "black boy."
His words, not TLG's. Ailing Ted Kennedy came out and read a speech written by
the Obama camp. Many feel sorry for Ted. Mary Jo Kopechne was not available for
comment. There was Obama's wife, Michelle with their two daughters.
Michelle
had nothing of interest to say. Many of the female democrats had make-overs for
this event. Michelle was no exception, but hers was an attitude make-over. The
democrats were trying to portray this bitter anti-American woman as the girl next
door. She had on a dress, not a pants suit.
Then, on the large monitor behind
her, Barack appeared on a closed circuit broadcast. This little stunt was stolen
from a Republican convention used by Ronald and Nancy Reagan.
Missing were any
attacks on McCain. This is curious as the democrats are known for their down and
dirty attacks. Maybe this was just to show what nice people the socialists really
are. Maybe they're just afraid of payback because each of them has so many skeletons
in their closets. Add to that they are now very confused after the scolding that
Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden received from the Catholic Church.
Over the weekend,
Pelosi, who claims to be a practicing Catholic, told NBC's Tom Brokaw that the
Catholic Church doesn't state when life begins. She went on a somewhat lengthy
diatribe of how the Church didn't forbid abortion, and that "doctors of the
church" have not been able to define when life begins. She supported her
statement by saying, "As an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue
that I have studied for a long time."
The Archbishop of Washington corrected
her. Calling abortion an evil thing, he reaffirmed the Catholic Church's position
that human life begins at the moment of conception. Furthermore, he told her that
it is documented that abortion has been forbidden by the Church since the first
century. That would be about 2,000 ago, not the "maybe 50 years or something
like that" that Pelosi claimed. Pelosi tried to spin it as a regional thing.
As if San Francisco's Catholics have some other divine following.
Biden was
also taken to task for his lies about Catholic doctrine. He was warned not to
take Communion with the evil beliefs he has.
Basically, they were told that
they were either liars or stupid or both and to not hide behind the Catholic religion
for political gains.
Anyway, those two dopey democrats were more a topic of
discussion than was their boring convention. By the way, McCain went up over Obama
by two points in the Gallup tracking poll. There was no bounce for Obama regardless
of Biden and Michelle. Looks like the more the democrats say, the more the undecided
like McCain.
